Chaetomium globosum
Kunze

Study description
Outer surface covered with long hairs, brown under the microscope, 2.1 to 4.3 µm wide, with numerous septa, some bifurcate at the base, without dichotomous branching, with a hyaline apex terminating in rounded shapes.
The surface of the hyphae is mostly with fine granulations.
Excipular hyphae of textura angularis.
Asci not observed, though according to literature they should be clavate and evanescent, deliquescing within the perithecium after releasing the ascospores.
Ascospores ovoid to short ellipsoidal, with pointed ends and in many cases lemon-shaped (apiculate at both ends), varying from hyaline to dark brown probably due to different stages of maturity, with one or two large lipid droplets inside and abundant smaller granulations.
