Peridium thick, formed of hyphae of textura angularis, thick-walled and heavily pigmented with brown.
Asci clavate, bitunicate and 8-spored.
Without paraphyses or pseudoparaphyses.
Ascospores fusiform, with 3 transverse septa and very pronounced constrictions at the septa (submuriform), some with a single longitudinal septum, hyaline or with faint yellowish content.
