Anthracobia tristis
(Sacc., E.Bommer & M.Rousseau) Boud.

Study description
Species appearing massively on burnt ground, with disc-shaped orange apothecia, sessile, 1.4 to 2.3 mm in diameter.
Marginal hairs scarce, discrete and inconspicuous.
Hyphae of the medullary excipulum of textura intricata, and hyphae of the ectal excipulum of textura globosa-angularis, 25 to 45 µm in diameter.
Asci 8-spored, uniseriate, operculate, 150 to 190 µm long, 10 to 13 µm wide, without any reaction to Melzer's reagent (inamyloid).
Paraphyses filiform, septate, with an enlarged apex, 5 to 8 µm wide at the apex, with orange pigment granules inside that darken to blackish-green hues in Melzer's reagent, not protruding above the level of the asci.
Ascospores cylindrical, some even with a slight central depression—a feature distinguishing it from potential look-alikes, which all have ellipsoidal spores—14 to 17 µm long, 6.5 to 8 µm wide, containing two thick oil or lipid droplets inside.
