Octosporopsis nicolai
(Maire) U.Lindem., M.Vega & T.Richt.

Study description
This species features an apothecium between 2 and 7 mm in diameter, yellow or orange-yellow in color, with a finely pubescent and translucent margin. The excipulum is the same color as the hymenium and is covered at the base with a whitish pubescence, by which it anchors to its host: the liverwort Lunularia cruciata.
Due to its small size and its habit of growing on the thalli of Lunularia cruciata (the only known habitat for Octosporopsis nicolai), it often goes unnoticed.
The specimens photographed and studied were collected in December in the town of Zamudio (Bizkaia), in a landscaped garden area and on the aforementioned host.
