(Fr.) Dennis

Study description
The genus Neottiella comprises bryophilous species growing associated with various moss hosts. Neottiella rutilans is one of the largest in the genus, exceeding 1 cm in diameter. It has a well-defined stipe, an attractive yellow to orange-toned apothecium, and distinct white marginal hairs.
The collection studied was made in March in a clearing at the edge of a pine forest on mosses of the genus Polytrichum in Oña (Burgos), where it has been observed repeatedly in similar seasons.
