Mollisia ventosa

(P.Karst.) P.Karst.

Microscopía de Mollisia ventosa

Study description

A small species, comparable in size to its congeners, but distinguished by possessing a yellow hymenium that makes it readily identifiable.

This striking Mollisia can be found on plant debris and wood in wet areas.

When found on semi-submerged wood it could be confused with species of the genus Vibrissea, but the microscopy is completely different.

The specimens studied were found in the municipality of Areatza (Bizkaia), in Gorbeia Natural Park, growing on heavily decayed, semi-submerged wood in a mountain stream.
