Marasmius epodius
Bres.

Study description
A small Marasmius with a pileus barely exceeding 1 cm in diameter. Conical-campanulate in its early stages of development, becoming applanate at maturity. The margin is radially sulcate and the pileus typically shows colors ranging from dark brown to ochraceous brown, occasionally with pinkish tinges.
This species usually appears in small groups in open areas with mosses or plant debris, such as coastal dunes, meadows, etc.
We have found it in three different locations: on coastal dunes in Busturia (Bizkaia) and Laredo (Cantabria), both in December; and on another occasion in a meadow in the municipality of Kanpezu (Álava), in October.
The microscopic photographs correspond to the collection from Bizkaia, which by spore size would fit with var. microsporus.
