(Bon) Matheny & Esteve-Rav.

Study description
The pileus can reach up to 6 cm in diameter, covered with fibrils, brownish, ochre, or brown, fading with age.
The stipe is robust, paler than the pileus, and covered with fibrils forming a fugitive ring-like zone.
A species that can occur in inland sandy soil areas under conifers or broadleaves, but is more common in sandy soils of coastal dunes.
We found this Mallocybe on two occasions, in December in the dune area of the Cantabrian town of Laredo, under Eucalyptus globulus.
