Leucocoprinus brebissonii
(Godey) Locq.

Study description
A slender, graceful species with a pileus reaching up to 5 cm in diameter, white or whitish, with a dark brown to almost black central disc, decorated over the remainder of the cap with concolorous scales that become sparser towards the margin.
The stipe, measuring up to 7 or 8 cm in length, is fragile, slender, white, and provided with a fugacious annulus.
It typically fruits from summer to autumn in broadleaved or coniferous forests, usually in deep humus-rich areas with high ambient humidity or after heavy rainfall.
We have recorded this Leucocoprinus on numerous occasions, though always solitary or in small troops.
The microscopic study corresponds to a collection made in Gorliz (Bizkaia) in August under Quercus ilex.
Additional photographs from earlier finds in Areatza and Erandio (Bizkaia), and Legutio (Álava), collected between August and October in different habitats (Quercus robur, Fagus sylvatica, and Pinus sylvestris), are included.
