Leucoagaricus jubilaei
(Joss.) Bon

Study description
Species with a pileus rarely exceeding 4 cm in diameter. The cap surface is whitish, but covered with lilaceous-brown to purplish squamules, particularly dense at the central disc and becoming sparser towards the margin.
The stipe, up to 5 cm long, is whitish, staining yellow upon handling like the rest of the basidiome, and is equipped with a fragile membranous ring.
This handsome Leucoagaricus fruits between summer and autumn, in woodlands as well as in gardens, typically in damp microclimates.
The specimens studied in this record were found in Mungia (Bizkaia), growing in small troops under Quercus robur in early October.
Additional macroscopic photographs from earlier collections in Erandio and Derio (Bizkaia), made in September in the same habitat, are also included.
