Lepiota griseovirens
Maire

Study description
A Lepiota with a pileus diameter reaching up to 3 cm, greenish-grey with olivaceous flushes. The stipe, up to 5 or 6 cm long, cylindrical and somewhat enlarged at the base, is covered over its lower two-thirds with scales concolorous with those on the cap. In mature basidiomes, the stipe base typically takes on orange colourations that intensify upon handling.
A species encountered predominantly during the autumn months in both broadleaved and coniferous woodlands. Lepiota grangei is a closely related species distinguished, among other characters, by its larger spores.
The microscopic study corresponds to a collection made in December under Cupressus sempervirens in Amurrio (Álava).
An additional earlier photograph from September under Chamaecyparis lawsoniana in Erandio (Bizkaia) is included.
