Laccaria pumila
Fayod

Study description
An uncommon species fruiting in waterlogged, Sphagnum-rich microhabitats such as peat bogs, mires, or seasonally flooded areas, mycorrhizal with trees of the genera Betula or Salix.
Its pileus reaches a maximum of 3 cm in diameter, smooth or slightly scurfy-squamulose, with colours varying between orange, brown, or more reddish tones depending on the level of moisture.
Microscopy demonstrates 2-spored basidia producing large spores measuring between 10 and 15 µm, ornamented with dense, short spines that in my measurements scarcely exceeded 0.7 µm.
This work is based on a collection made in May in a wetland carpeted with Sphagnum, under Salix atrocinerea and Betula pubescens, in the municipality of Zeanuri (Bizkaia).
