Inosperma erubescens
(A.Blytt) Matheny & Esteve-Rav.

Study description
Species recently recombined into the genus Inosperma, characterized by the gradual reddening of the entire basidiome with age or upon bruising. Its pileus is medium-sized, radially fibrillose, umbonate, reaching 7 to 8 cm in the best specimens. The colour is initially whitish or faintly ochraceous, rapidly acquiring pinkish or reddish flushes.
It typically appears from late spring to early autumn in forest clearings, track edges, or parks. It contains high amounts of muscarine, making it highly toxic and potentially lethal.
The specimens studied for this work were located in a holm oak forest (Quercus ilex) on calcareous soil in mid-July, in Orduña (Bizkaia).
