Inosperma cookei
(Bres.) Matheny & Esteve-Rav.

Study description
Inosperma with a pileus up to 5 cm in diameter, typically ochraceous-yellow, fibrillose, and with an obtuse umbo. The stipe, measuring up to 7 cm in length, is cylindrical and floccose at the apex, provided at the base with a whitish, more or less marginate, and at times very distinct bulb.
A species that usually fruits in small troops, generally in broadleaved woodlands, between summer and mid-autumn.
The microscopic study comes from a collection made in October under Quercus rubra and Fagus sylvatica in Zeanuri (Bizkaia).
An additional photograph from an earlier find in the Urbasa-Andia Natural Park (Navarra), in a calcareous beechwood, is also included.
