Inocybe sindonia
(Fr.) P.Karst.

Study description
An Inocybe with a pileus reaching up to 6 cm in diameter, whitish-cream or ochraceous-white, covered with longitudinal fibrils that break up into fine scales at maturity.
Species occurring in both coniferous and broadleaf forests. Macroscopically similar to the common Inocybe geophylla, but microscopy distinguishes them readily: Inocybe sindonia possesses long-necked cystidia that can exceed 90 µm in length.
The collection studied here was found growing in a Scots pine forest (Pinus sylvestris) on limestone soil in November, in Orduña (Bizkaia).
