Inocybe ovatocystis
Boursier & Kühner

Study description
A small Inocybe with a dark brown pileus covered with prominent fibrils or scales that impart a woolly appearance. Microscopy reveals nodulose spores with numerous nodules (up to 10), some very pronounced and projecting.
The diagnostic feature under the microscope is its cystidia, which are predominantly ovoid and apically encrusted with crystals.
Formerly considered a variety of Inocybe lacera, it is now recognised at the species level.
The specimens studied were gathered in a damp beech wood with scattered birch trees, in late July, in the municipality of Soba (Cantabria).
