Inocybe godeyi
Gillet

Study description
An Inocybe with a pileus rarely exceeding 3 or 4 cm in diameter. Its initial colour is usually beige or ochraceous, turning intensely red with maturity or upon bruising. This pronounced reddening across the entire basidiome and its distinctly marginate basal bulb make it readily identifiable in the field.
Although other reddening Inocybe species exist, microscopic features provide definitive confirmation.
A species typical of deciduous woodlands that we have observed and photographed on numerous occasions; hence it cannot be considered rare, at least in our region.
The microscopic examination presented here is based on a collection made in June under Corylus avellana and Quercus faginea in Amurrio (Álava).
Photographs from other locations are also included, all under holm oaks: Gorliz and Erandio (Bizkaia) and Lantarón (Álava), in September, June, and November, respectively.
