Inocybe corydalina
Quél.

Study description
Medium-sized Inocybe, with a pileus reaching up to 7 cm in diameter. The cap is covered by radial fibrils against an ochraceous-cream background. The umbo is typically distinct and dark, greenish-tinged, although this feature is not always conspicuous. In this collection, for instance, it was only faintly noticeable in a single specimen and barely captured by the camera.
Another hallmark of this species is its deeply sweet, aromatic, or fruity odour.
These distinctive characteristics make it readily identifiable in the field.
It is a widely distributed yet uncommon species, typically fruiting in deciduous woodlands from summer to autumn.
The specimens studied were collected in October, growing in a copse of Corylus avellana with isolated Quercus faginea trees nearby, in Amurrio (Álava).
