Hyphoderma transiens
(Bres.) Parmasto

Study description
Hyphoderma transiens is a lignicolous corticioid fungus that causes white rot in the dead wood of various broadleaved trees. The basidioma forms completely resupinate sheets with an odontoid hymenophore bearing small conical teeth or granules.
Its coloration ranges from white during early development to cream, yellow, or brownish-yellow at maturity.
The microscopic study and accompanying macroscopic photographs are based on two collections made in Erandio (Bizkaia) on decaying wood of Quercus robur, both gathered in May.
