Homophron spadiceum
(P.Kumm.) Örstadius & E.Larss.

Study description
A species recombined from Psathyrella found growing in caespitose clusters at the base of living trees, both conifers and broadleaved species.
Characterized by its substantial stature, with a pileus reaching up to nearly 12 cm in diameter, reddish-brown in color, and pinkish lamellae that turn brown at maturity.
Microscopically, it is characterized by prominent lageniform to sublageniform thick-walled cystidia with acute apices, occasionally crowned by calcium oxalate crystals.
An uncommon though widespread species, relatively more frequent in landscaped parks and urban settings.
Specimens examined here were gathered at the base of a mature Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica) in Zalduondo (Álava) in late autumn.
