Hodophilus anatinus
Dima, Adamčík & Jančovič.

Study description
Species of the genus Hodophilus are characterized by their small stature and subtle microscopic distinctions. Coupled with the phenotypic variability their macroscopic appearance often displays, reliable identification can be challenging.
The species treated here features a pileus up to 2 cm in diameter, initially greyish-brown, becoming orange-grey in dry weather. The stipe is initially yellow, rapidly turning greyish-yellow or brownish near the apex.
It may be confused with congeners such as H. micaceus, H. praecox, etc.
The collection examined here was verified by Sabino Arauzo and Plácido Iglesias, prominent specialists in the group. Specimens were collected in a Chamaecyparis lawsoniana plantation in Areatza (Bizkaia).
