Gymnopilus odini
(Fr.) Bon & P.Roux

Study description
A small Gymnopilus with a pileus diameter barely reaching 3 cm, reddish or reddish-orange, covered with granules or fine scales.
A rare and infrequently recorded species in our region, typically found on burnt ground.
Cheilocystidia subcapitate to capitate, occasionally with their apices covered by a mucous cap.
The specimens studied here were found in a stand of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana that had been burnt in late May in Galdames (Bizkaia). An additional macroscopic photograph illustrates another collection made in February in a burnt Pinus radiata plantation in Zeberio (Bizkaia).
