Gymnopilus bellulus
(Peck) Murrill

Study description
A small Gymnopilus belonging to section Microspori due to its small spores, which average under 6 µm. The genus contains several similar species, requiring microscopic analysis for accurate identification.
This rare species grows on old, heavily degraded coniferous logs in mountainous regions of Europe and North America.
The specimens studied were collected on dead silver fir (Abies alba) wood in October in Villanúa (Huesca).
