Galerina hybrida
Kühner

Study description
A typical Galerina of peat bogs and mire habitats among Sphagnum.
Formerly referred to as Galerina tibiicystis, a name currently discarded for European collections as it corresponds to a distinct North American taxon.
It may be confused with the similar and co-occurring Galerina mairei. However, the latter exhibits a dark grey stipe and its spores exceed 6 µm in width.
The mycological study presented here is based on a collection gathered in August in a peat bog within the Gorbeia Natural Park, Orozko (Bizkaia). Additional photographs represent two previous collections from a peat bog in Merindad de Montija (Burgos), both made in July.
