Entoloma coracis
Brandrud, Dima, Noordel., G.M.Jansen & Vila

Study description
A beautiful Entoloma of a striking dark blue to blackish-blue color that loses its characteristic hue at maturity, shifting to brownish tones. The stipe displays similar colors but somewhat paler, greyish-brown.
Cap diameter was around 4 cm in the most mature specimens studied. Within section Cyanula, numerous species share similar coloration, creating added difficulty for classification. We thank Sabino Arauzo, an eminent expert in the genus, for assistance in correctly identifying these collections.
The specimens presented in this study come from two different locations, both on calcareous terrain: one in Orduña (Bizkaia) in October under Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, and the other in the municipality of Aiara (Álava) in December in a dehesa-like woodland with Quercus faginea.
