Coprotus glaucellus

(Rehm) Kimbr.

Microscopía de Coprotus glaucellus

Study description

The genus Coprotus encompasses a large number of species growing on dung of various herbivores. They are usually common in their habitat but overlooked due to their tiny size, in this case barely reaching half a millimeter in diameter.

The collection studied microscopically here was made in a peat bog in Areatza (Bizkaia), growing on red deer (Cervus elaphus) droppings in late December.
