Conocybe vexans
P.D.Orton

Study description
Conocybe vexans, also placed in Pholiotina, is a small species with a cap rarely exceeding 25 mm in diameter.
Annulate Conocybe species represent a group difficult to separate macroscopically; however, this species is easily distinguished microscopically by 4-spored basidia, large spores, and lageniform cheilocystidia.
It has also been known as Conocybe blattaria, a name that should be abandoned as it is currently considered a nomen ambiguum.
The specimens studied here were collected in late December in a grassy area near a grove of Pinus pinea in the locality of Lantarón (Álava).
