Conocybe mesospora
Kühner ex Watling

Study description
The genus Conocybe encompasses numerous species with very similar macroscopic features, making exhaustive microscopic examination indispensable.
The species treated here is large for the genus, reaching up to 5 cm in diameter.
Its hygrophanous cap varies in color from orange to brown, with a pruinose, whitish stipe that widens at the base.
The study presented here is based on a collection made in June in the middle of a forest track, in a humid woodland area under oak trees (Quercus rubra and Q. robur) in the municipality of Erandio (Bizkaia).
